We Are Who We Are - Kesha

''A stereotype is an exaggerated or distorted generalization about an entire category of people that does not acknowledge individual variation. Stereotypes form the basis for prejudice and discrimination..''

When I talked to Ouwais about stereotype,he mentioned to me about the disappointing day that he had in Malaysia. He went to the city. In the middle of huge crowd, there was one chinese woman hold his hand. That woman was wearing a revealing clothes. She gave Ouwais a 'signal'. Ouwais said to her,

''Get your hands off of me!''

He was very mad. Like really really mad. First because, that woman touched him. Second, because she stereotyped him. She thought that every people who live in the Arab countries have a lot of money!

I felt disappointed and really embarrassed as a Malaysian to what had happened to him.  :/

''Hmm.. Me too. So,anything else,Eizat?''

Well,he said that people stereotype his brother. Ouwais has a bright skin like any other Arabs. But,it is a different story for his brother,Fadhl. Fadhl has the same colour of skin like us, Malaysian. Some people think that Fadhl is an Asian guy.  o-0

''I never think of that before. Now that you had mentioned it to me,he does look like an Asian guy.'' :0

Other than that, they also have their own stereotypes against Malaysians. They said that all chinese look alike. They have trouble in recognizing their chinese friends. I find it difficult for me to believe that. Like seriously? They also say that Malays love to burp!

''WHAAATTT???''  -,-

Well,it's kinda like my fault he thinks that way. Whenever I'm with them,I tend to burp! And their Malay friends also burp in front of them. So,that's what make them think that Malays love to burp.

''Interesting! By the way,I know what Ouwais felt. As a Singaporean, people tend to stereotype me with this thing. They think that I am rich! Well,I hope that those words that they say will be a reality one day. To be true,I'm just an average guy. Sometimes in life,I also face some financial problems.''

Awww.. I hope that one day you will become filthy rich!

''AMEEN!!""  :D

Lemonade - Beyonce

My favourite topic! Food!!!  ^_^

''That's why you're... a little big,Eizat!''  :p

So,you're calling me fat??  -,-

''I didn't say that,okay. Hahaha..
Let's get back to our favourite topic now.''  :D

Hmm..
I'll get back to you later. Okay. Yup. Food. I love food by the way. Born in Melaka has made me someone who really love to eat spicy food. It's compulsory for me to put chillies in my food. The Malay cuisine also famous with spicy food. We call it 'Sambal'. We have 'Sambal Ikan', 'Sambal Ayam', 'Sambal Daging' and many more! For your information, whenever I eat spicy food,I will sweat eventhough I'm eating at a place that has air condition. How about you,Ubai? Do you only eat western food? :0

''Yeah,I eat McDonald everyday,Eizat!!''

Really??  :0

''Are you being serious right now? I won't be this muscular if I eat those junk food everyday..'' -,-

L-I-A-R  -_-
Fool me once but not twice.

''Hey,it's my turn to talk, okay? Well, even though I'm a Singaporean, and it sounds like being a Western people, but I also eat what the food that you eat,Eizat. My mum will cook rice, 'Sambal', 'Asam Pedas' and other famous Malay cuisine. My family taste is just like the most of the Malaysian here. Well,I'm just a Malay boy who happen to live in Singapore. That's it. What about our guy?'' :)

Ouwais? Well,he had trouble with adjusting with the environment when he first get in Malaysia. Including in choosing the food. His elder brother, who also studies at our university, lost 15 kg at the beginning of his first semester here because he did not know what . Alhamdulillah, now both of them are already able to adapt with the environment in Malaysia. At evening, they will eat international food like food from Somalia and Arab countries like Egpyt that is sell at the cafe. And at night, they will eat Malay food. 'Nasi Goreng', Tom Yam Ayam' and 'Sup Ayam' are their favourites! And guess what? They told me that Malay food is very tasty!.. but oily. Which is not healthy..
Hehehe..  XD

Some of his favourite food:

Shawarma

Hummus

Pizza

Black & White - Micheal Jackson

You guys probably are wondering what do we look like. Are we good looking or not, or we are that Ugly Duckling. Well,me and Ubai can guarantee you that we are not a duck. Am I right,Ubai? >_<

"Quack! Quack! Quack!" :3

Ubai.. -,-

Just ignore him. We probably should post a selfie of ours by now but, naaahh. Let's keep it as a secret. Mysterious along the way. Well,Insha Allah,we will reveal our faces at the end of this semester. For the start,we can just give you a hint or some details about you guys. Let's start with me,okay? So,this here's a poem that our lecturer asked us to write in the class. A poem that describes us. This is mine.

"I am young boy. Not that young and not that old.
I am a Malaysian. A Sarawakian. Part of Asian.
I am Eizat. I love cats and I am cool like that."

:p

Ubai,your turn!

"Hmm.. Nice try playing with the rythm,Eizat. But,I choose to be different. Instead of writing a poem,I drew a sketch of my own face! So here it is. Tadaaa!" :D

Born This Way - Lady GaGa

In one of the earliest class of Intercultural Communication that we take this semester, our lecturer,Dr.Afiza Ali has shown us a video by Pellegrino Riccardi. We think that the video was a wake up call or more likely a good list of advices on intercultural communication. He said that one of the most important thing was curiosity. How curiosity can lead us to discover a lot of new things. And out of everything I learned from him was,we should respect other people's differences in order to live in harmony. Am I right,Ubai? Emm..

''Harmony is a kind of a.. I don't know.
Can you just change that word to something else,Eizat? I feel like we're conducting a kids program like 'Hi-5' or something..''

Fine! World peace then. Happy? -_-

''Yes. And I also learn something from that video. Emm... Which is, aaa..''

Acceptance,perhaps?

''Yes! Thank you,Eizat. I was looking for that word actually. But,I did watch the video, okay. Seriously.''
